Hi, I was wondering what the current status is with the RMendeley package?
Is it still depreciated?

Hi Saul,
We deprecated it after the API changed a few times and the version we had
on CRAN stopped working. But William Gunn from Mendeley mentioned that
someone from Mendeley's own dev team has started working on a replacement.
I've cc'ed him on this email for an update so hopefully he'll have
something more substantial to tell us.

Hi Karthik. Thanks. I was talking to someone at Open London Drinks last
week from Mendeley who was working on that and I asked her about the API.
She seemed to think It was working now and we should be able to fix up the
package. She was also saying they've added alot of cool new stuff.

Regards,
Saul

Hi Saul,
Right, that's my point. That someone from Mendeley is already working on a
new R package to replace (our now) deprecated version. Our core team has no
bandwidth to work on this since our project schedule is quite full at this
time. It's not clear if you ran into someone working on just the API or the
R package. Either way we are not opposed to anyone else from Mendeley or
otherwise taking on the new version of the package.

best,
- Karthik

Actually I just received this message from Joyce at Mendeley

Hello,
I'm the Developer Outreach at Mendeley. I came across your message here -
https://github.com/ropensci/rmendeley - about us implementing a fix.
We are not planning on doing a new R Mendeley package. We have moved to a
new API and all details can be found on dev.mendeley.com
We have provided a simple R example on our Mendeley GitHub account at -
https://github.com/Mendeley/mendeley-api-r-example
We are open to accepting any pull requests if you want to contribute.
I'm here to help where I can so please get in touch if you need to.
So if anyone is keen on picking this up, it's wide open.
